It is not always easy to explain why, all over the world, Italy represents a reference point to all lovers of "beauty". No doubt the arts, landscape and culinary tradition of our country evoke special emotions, not repeatable anywhere else.
- -We would like to introduce our instruments to you with the help of a metaphor that has to do with those very emotions, and precisely with the two extremes of the best Italian "cuisine".
One of those you would experience if you gave yourself the time to enjoy a dinner at the "Enoteca Pinchiorri" in Florence, where charm and professionalism in the best Italian stile combines with legendary wines, to give you a taste of paradise.
It is the most exclusive and fashionable Italy, expensive and cosmopolitan, but not that of ordinary Italians!
On the other hand if you happen to know a friend with a traditional farm, one of those with vinery and olive trees on the sloping hills of the Tuscan countryside, blessed by sunshine most of the year, then there are two appointments not to be missed. At the end of the vine-harvesting days, "La Vendemmia", is the lunch everyone waits for. And then there is the dinner just before Christmas, when the first olives are brought to the Olive-press.
On those occasions you would taste home made foods and honest vines that you could find nowhere else, you would enjoy the unique and exciting taste of the freshly pressed olive-oil on a hot bread and beans traditional soup. This would also be an exclusive experience, but one that you can have access to only if in contact with the real Italians.
In the same way there is in Italy a tradition of excellent violin-makers, of the highest formal quality, internationally renowned, the like of Maestro Guicciardi, Regazzi or Sbernini. They represent though only one extreme of what Italy can offer in this field. There is here also another Italy of violin-makers, of which, we belive, we are the best example, that resembles the unique and authentic flavors of the Autumn lunches and dinners of the Tuscan country farms.
What we tried to covey with this metaphor is that we make the violins that the Italian musicians are after. They are not "inferior or superior" to the others, they just have, according to us, another "flavor", the special Italian "feel" that has made Italian handcraft a synonym of "beauty".
